Finland 2014

In 2009 our Scout Troop was lucky enough to spend 10 days at a Scout & Guide camp in Finland, an adventure of a lifetime! Our Finnish colleagues are holding a similar regional camp in the summer of 2014 and we’ve been invited to take a group of our current troop to this camp, giving them the opportunity to enjoy and explore a different culture, meet new friends and learn new life skills.
The flights booked we took 24 Scouts & 6 Leaders departing Gatwick on Thursday 24th July 2014 at 09.40 for Finland, staying at the Stadion Youth Hostel in Helsinki for 3 nights.
On Friday 25th we took a boat over to Tallinn where we will spend the day. Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia.
Saturday will be spent exploring Helsinki.
On the Sunday we left Helsinki and travel by coach to a small island in Lake Saima where we will join up with over 500 Finnish Scouts and Guides for a 7-day camp.

We fly home from Helsinki on Monday 4th August 2014 arriving back at Gatwick at 18.10.
Our Fundraising efforts gave us £6522 reducing the cost to the families of the scouts going considerably.

Thank you to all our parents and sponsors.
